I thought I would go out with the boys on this one to take some photos for you. We were all in very good spirits on our way to help a lovely lady with her removals into the fith-floor apartment in Portishead. Upon arrival, we managed to secure great parking right next to the lift, which is always good news—only for it to be out of order. You could see Leon's excitement quickly turn into a mix of determination and resignation.
As someone who typically spends more time sitting at a desk than engaging in physical labor, I found the prospect of unloading a full van up those stairs quite daunting. The lift was scheduled for repair in four hours, but knowing how these things often go—especially when parts are involved—we decided against waiting. We opted for the "job now" option; after all, there was no guarantee that we wouldn’t be stuck waiting indefinitely.

Phil and Leon took on most of the heavy lifting while I handled smaller boxes and items. Despite the laborious task ahead, we couldn’t help but admire the lovely view from the apartment—so much open space! After about five hours of hard work and teamwork, we finally finished unloading all the boxes and furniture for this full house move. Our customer was happy with her new home and the removals service we had provided, which made it all worthwhile.
Just as we were driving out of the carpark, guess who showed up? The lift repairman! It’s always so typical that timing would play its tricks on us like that. Nonetheless, it was an adventure worth sharing—a reminder that sometimes challenges can lead to unexpected moments of camaraderie and joy amidst hard work.
