Full House Move with 5th Floor Stair Carry - Portishead

When a broken lift threatened to delay a full house move into a fifth-floor Portishead apartment, the team at Afordable Services stepped in to carry every box and item up five flights of stairs.

The Challenge

We set off in high spirits to help a customer move into her lovely fifth-floor apartment in Portishead. Upon arrival, we managed to secure prime parking right next to the main building lift. However, we quickly discovered that the lift was completely out of order. An engineer was scheduled to arrive in four hours, but with no guarantee of a prompt repair, waiting would have caused major delays to our customer's moving day.

Our Approach

Rather than waiting around, our team decided to get straight to work using the stairs. Phil and Leon took on the heavy lifting while Tania managed the lighter boxes and smaller items. Over the course of five hours of continuous physical work, we kept up a strong steady pace and maintained a positive attitude to keep the move completely stress-free for our client.

The Result

Every single piece of furniture and packed box was delivered safely into the fifth-floor apartment on schedule. Our customer was delighted to be settled into her bright new home with no unexpected delays. Just as we drove out of the car park, the lift engineer finally arrived, bringing a well-earned smile to the end of a hard five-hour effort.
